kdA is working with a leading technology company on a number of new office spaces in Menlo Park, Fremont, Los Angeles, and New York. Designed to accommodate a variety of departments, the modern design features a balance of open desking, project-based rooms, breakout rooms, and is punctuated by a wide range of food service amenities. The Menlo Park locations included over 160,000 sf of renovated spaces and 1,082 desks. kdA developed high end public spaces with custom furniture, murals, and cabinetry.

For each project studies were completed that explored employee engagement, adjacencies, technology needs, mobility, flexibility, light, density, and layouts. Emphasis was placed on creating a well-designed workplace that improves performance and builds a healthy culture.

kdA provided an integrated planning and programming process that was completed on a rapid schedule. For the first phase in Menlo Park the design and construction process were completed in seven months, the second phase was completed in six months and the third in eight months.

The Ardenwood project, which is also in the Bay Area, consists of two buildings: one is 100,000SF while the other is 90,000SF. The first building has 654 desks, breakout spaces, and mobile working stations. The second building is focused on lab support for research and development and has 300 desks.

This project included a systems update and interior renovation of two buildings. The first — a 100,000SF, two-story precast structure with steel trusses — offers office and lab space, while the second — a 90,000SF, one-story warehouse — contains a recording studio, research labs, and culinary spaces.
