The 770 Broadway building is one of the most iconic structures in lower Manhattan, occupying an entire square block, bracketed on the city grid by 8^th and 9^th street from north to south and Broadway and Fourth Avenue from east to west. Designed by the famed American architect Daniel Burnham and completed in 1907, the building was originally intended as an annex for the Wanamaker department store directly across 9^th street. After the closing of Wanamaker’s in 1954 770 Broadway transitioned to office space and has been the NYC corporate home to many national and global firms, including Chase Bank, Verizon Media, and J. Crew.

Since 2016 kdA has been working with a leading technology company on several new office spaces in Menlo Park, Fremont, Los Angeles, and New York City. Designed to accommodate a variety of departments, kdA’s work features a balance of open desking, project-based and breakout rooms, punctuated by a wide range of food-service and other amenities.

In total, kdA’s work includes over 400,000SF of renovated spaces in the 770 Broadway building. Split into two phases, the first phase includes work on the lobby, 3rd and 10th floors, and was completed in the summer of 2019. The second phase includes work on the 11, 12, and 13th floors and was completed in fall 2020. The design includes over 500 desks, conference zones, cafes, and floors are connected by a new stair core. kdA developed high-end public spaces with custom furniture, murals, and cabinetry.
